
Jennifer was always excited about becoming an multi-tasking star. When she was young Jennifer was into a wide range of genres of music, particularly Afro-Caribbean musics like merengue, salsa and Bachata. Additionally, she loved mainstream music like hip-hop , and R&B. She was a big fan of both film and music. West Side Story (1961) the musical by Rita Moreno that influenced her most as well as her main source of inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer as well as being an entertainer and Catholic schoolgirl, attended 8 years of Holy Family Catholic Elementary School in The Bronx. After completing the four-year course and graduation, she attended Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer did well in sports during her time at school, and was a champion in tennis as well as track and field. She spent most of her raising her children in a two-story home in the Castle Hill neighborhood. Jennifer was the first to leave the home of her parents at 18 to move out. Lopez was employed in the law office, while also dancing during the night.
